Charles Rants and Reminiscings

Preface to Stories

We all grow up somewhere and we find home in the strangest of places.  These are my stories of coming of age and they are as much a part of me as my right arm.  Life can be cruel and mysterious and brutal and sensual and nurturing and full of mistakes and blunders.  Yet it is this very roller coaster of life that leaves us with stories to tell.  If Odysseus had sailed home on a bright and sunny day with only favorable winds the last three thousand years would have been very dull.

I would like to extend my apologies to anyone who remembers these stories differently.  My advice is to tell your own stories.
